Xbox head Phil Spencer has shared in a recent interview he has actually seen Elden Ring and even played it.
A recent interview withXbox Head Phil Spencer on Gamespot, Spencer has not only revealed that they have seen Elden Ring, the upcoming dark fantasy RPG by FromSoftware, but has actually played the game. When asked exactly how much he had seen of the elusive game, he said “I’ve seen actually quite a bit. I’ve played quite a bit.”

Of course details from the interview are rather thin, as there is a lot he cannot share. We haven’t seen anything since the teaser reveal of Elden Ring. But Spencer has shared that compared to Hidetaka Miyazaki’s previous games such asDark Souls,Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, this is “the most ambitious game that he’s done”.
I mean, I love his games, but seeing some of the gameplay mechanics stuff that he’s tackling, he and the team are tackling this time, of the setting, working with another creator in terms of story. I love it.
Spencer was also asked about George R.R. Martin who has been lending his literary talents to write the mythos and lore behind Elden Ring. According to Spencer the open world game will have open-ended areas, more so than previous FromSoftware titles.
Recently FromSoftware tweeted aboutElden Ring to assure fansthat the game is still very much alive and in the works. As there hasn’t been much of an update since the game was revealed. But there have been bits and pieces of infoshared at a panelduring the 23rd Japan Media Arts Festival, which talked about story themes and more.
Whilerumourshave been abundant, with speculation of a day and night system, change in AI progression, as well as a mount ghost horse that can be summoned. Of course this hasn’t been confirmed by the developer, and many details are still under wraps as of now, including the release date, as we still haven’t seen anything of the game this year.
