Warborne Above Ashes Opens Steam Playtest
This title puts players in the role of aDriftmaster, caught in an ongoing war between six factions. One of its standout features is large-scale battles with up to 100 players per side, which you can join solo or as part of a guild—whether you’re looking to gather resources or push into deadly territories.
Pumpkin Studiodescribes the game as straightforward, without the complex class specializations common in other MMOs, allowing players to contribute to their team’s victories quickly. There are over 40 drifters to recruit, each customizable with hundreds of equipment pieces tailored to your preferred combat style—whether frontline engagement, logistics, artillery control, vehicle piloting, or trading.

The open-world map encourages diverse attack and defense strategies, emphasizing battlefield dominance through base placement, adapting to wartime conditions, and surviving the harsh environment, including extreme weather threats like snowstorms and sandstorms.
At the end of each war, the map resets, and everything starts anew—hopefully, with lessons learned for the next battle. Following launch, the developers promise regular updates, new battlefields, maps, mechanics, and enemies to keep the experience fresh.

Player-Driven Improvements
With every technical test, the developers listen to player feedback and make adjustments. For example, they’ve minimized lag even in large-scale battles, revamped the user interface, improved matchmaking queues, and refined the respawn system.
“Our team consists of passionateMMORPGand PvP players,” the developers explain. “Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours on battlefields, from intense skirmishes in narrow valleys to prolonged castle sieges. These experiences still excite us today, and we can’t wait to share that excitement with all of you.”

Their ultimate goal is to create a world where PvP battles are always available.
