While Spider-Man may have been an integral part of the film industry, with numerous iterations throughout the years,Spider-Man: No Way Homewas by far the biggest success that the character had ever seen. This film was also the last time Tom Holland was seen swinging through New York as the web-slinger, which meant everything had to be perfect, which the movie was.

While the film had seen no complaints from the audience, some eagle-eyed fans did pick up on an inconsistency in the initial trailer of the film back then. It was a part of the scene where the spidey trio were squaring off against members of the Sinister Six, but due to not giving out spoilers of other Spider-Man being a part of the film, they had to erase them from the shot, which made Holland lie to cover up.

Tom Holland And Zendaya Had To Lie To Cover UpSpider-Man: No Way HomeTrailer Mistake

While we now know that Andrew Garfiled and Tobey Maguire were destined to make their appearances inSpider-Man: No Way Home, the public didn’t have to know just yet. This is why Marvel Studios had to hide their face-off against the Sinister Six in the trailer back then. But in doing so, they created an invisible punch that The Lizard took in the video.

When fans found out about this particular blunder, they were quick to point it out, which is whenTom HollandandZendayahad to make stuff up to save Marvel.

During an interview onJimmy Kimmel Live!the cast of the aforementioned movie talked about the then-upcoming film, which is where the host brought up this particular shot that was seen in the trailer that was released in Brazil. Here, we could see the shot where Garfield kicks The Lizard in the face in the movie, but instead of him, we only saw the villain getting a phantom hit to the face in the trailer.

This was such a big and ridiculous blunder that Jacob Batalon started laughing, while Benedict Cumberbatch along with Holland and Zendaya tried to cover up that fact.

WhileThe Crowded Roomstar said that it may have been a bird that hit him during their flying approach, his co-star said that it was all the debris that was flying everywhere, which may have come into contact with The Lizard’s face in that shot.

While Cumberbatch and Batalon also gave their own reasons for that shot, it was clear back then that they were hiding something big, which was a blessing in disguise since it could’ve been a huge spoiler, enough to destroy the surprise of the film.

There Was Another Major Blunder In The Film’s Plot

While the trailer may have been inconsistent with the aforementioned detail, fans also realized there was another mistake, and this time, it was with the plot of the film itself.

In the film, we see Doctor Stranger state that every villain from the Multiverse who knows Peter Parker’s true identity would’ve been transported into this dimension. But when it comes to Electro, he had no clue that Garfield’s Parker was actually Spider-Man, which makes his appearance as a member of the Sinister Six completely irrelevant.
