The Last of Us Part II Remasteredhas just received a new update on PS5 and PC that lets us replay the story in chronological order and unlock new rewards.
The Last of Us 2 Part II Remastered: A New Way to Play
If you’ve enjoyed Naughty Dog’s masterpiece, then you know the story doesn’t follow a linear path — it interweaves flashbacks and time jumps throughout Ellie and Abby’s journey.
Sony has just announced that this is now possible thanks to a brand-new update that has just launched for the remastered version onPS5 and PC.

This intense mix of action, stealth, and horror, with its non-linear storytelling, was originally crafted to deepen the player’s emotional connection with Ellie and Abby — a structure that’s a core part of the experience and without which the story wouldn’t have had the same impact.
That’s how it was designed for the original PS4 release in 2020, and the remaster for PS5, PC, and Steam Deck kept the same narrative format. But now, it’s time to shake things up.
