When you’re constructing a ship meant to last you many hours in Starfield, you’ll want to use the best parts that provide you the greatest benefits long-term. Choosing weapons is chief among that selection, with certain ship weapons dealing massive damage in the shortest amount of time. Picking a great hab will take you even further, though. Here are the best ship Habs in Starfield.
Which Ships Habs Should You Choose in Starfield?
If you want a Hab that will give you the best bang for your buck, then aWorkshop Habis your best bet. The easiest way to get one is to head to the Ship Services Technician in the New Atlantis Spaceport. When there, select “I want to view and modify my ships” and open up the Ship Builder. From here, Add a part to your ship and head to the Habs section, then hover over a Hab with numerous variants. Switch the variant using the keys listed at the bottom of the screen until you see a Workshop. For me, both the Deimos All-in-One Berth 2×1 and Nova Galactic All-in-One Berth 2×1 had Workshop variants.
The Workshop Habs contain each of the following workbenches:
While you could go to The Lodge or your Outpost and find the same workbenches, the convenience of having them on your ship is unmatched. If you’re anything like me and use your ship as a mobile Resource container, you may have a look at your Cargo Hold and see your supplies all from a glance. Frankly, every ship could include one.
What Other Habs Should You Have On Your Ship?
While Workshop Habs are easily the best, there’s a handful of other Habs that can be great as second and third Habs, depending on your ship size. AnArmory Habis a nice alternative, for example, offering plenty of storage for your weapons and ammo if you’re a bit of a gun hoarder. ACaptain’s Quartersis another excellent addition, offering a Bed alongside some storage. Other great follow-ups include anInfirmary, Mess Hall, andBattle Station.
Are There Any Habs You Shouldn’t Have On Your Ship?
While the list is short, there are a few Habs I would suggest absolutely not buying. AStoreroomis a prime example, serving no purpose other than to fill up space. AnEngineering Bay, while offering storage, also doesn’t bring much to the table that you couldn’t get with much better Habs. To round things off, don’t put aLiving QuartersHab on your ship either. If you really want a bed, a Captain’s Quarters Hab is a much better option.
How to Get Access to More Habs in Starfield
If you’re not happy with the Hab options you have or don’t have access to any of the above Habs, then you’ll want to visit some otherShip Services Technicians. You can find a Technician in most settlements, with certain ones also being specialized to a certain manufacturer’s ship parts.
