There Are A Few Possibilities
For the time being,it is unknown who the new actor is, since they are masked up. As there are currently no other actors that have been announced as part oftheSupermanmovie castin an undisclosed role, it’s possible this is a casting that will be revealed at a later time. However, there are a few intriguing possibilities of whom this player may be and how they pertain to the overall story.
With the character completely dressed in a black uniform, one of the most distinct features of the suit is that they have a U-symbol on it. One option is that the figure intheSupermanset photosis a new take on Ultraman, traditionally known as Clark Kent’s evil doppelgänger from Earth-3.IfSupermanis doing a fresh depiction of Ultraman outside the comics, it would make sense why he is covered up with a mask.
If it is not Ultraman who is seen next to Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr.,the other possibility is that it is the villain Neil Quinn, a.k.a. Ulysses, who could be working with the military against Superman. Given how he has similar powers to Krypton’s last son, it would make sense why he would get involved in the apparent arrest of Superman. However, until Gunn or DC Studios confirms it themselves, everyone will have to keep speculating about the new figure from theSupermanset and why the superhero is being taken in by the military.
