Summer Game Fest Date Announced for June

Summer Game Fest will be making its return, with its broadcast kicking off onThursday, 9th June at 7pm UK time (11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern).

This will be the major event for June, asE3 2022 has already been called off for this year. Geoff Keighley the producer of the show has announced a “live cross-industry showcase” which promises announcements, reveals and spotlight on indie studios during Day of the Devs.

An interesting addition is that Summer Game Fest will also be shown in IMAX theatres according to Keighley, who teases “full-scale immersion”. So if you want to watch the festivities on a large screen you’re able to. The same goes forThe Game Awardswhich takes place this December.

Along with the date for Summer Game Fest are the dates for the Xbox + Bethesda Game Showcase which is set for June 12th at 1 PM EST/10 AM PST. It was also previously announcedA Plague Tale: Requiem would be getting a demoreleased during the Tribeca Game Spotlight among other games featured, happening on June 9th, so there is quite a lot happening that month.

Last year was a big one for Summer Game Fest with thereveal dateforElden Ring, along with lots of new screenshots. What could be revealed this June? With big titles such asStarfieldandHogwarts Legacyreleasing later this year, maybe we’ll get to see more of these games, as it would make sense for the Bethesda + Xbox showcase for Starfield.
