Publisher Spike Chunsoft has announced theroguelikeRPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island will be heading to Switch for NA and EU on February 27th 2024. A new trailer introduces the long-running series. This new entry will finally be heading west at the beginning of next year.
In The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island it will be a high-risk, high-reward kind of game. If you fail, you will lose all your gear and levels, essentially starting over your run at level 1. As the title suggests, players will be venturing forth into the mystery dungeon which will continue to change as you playthrough. “Rise and rise again” certainly sounds more positive than die, die and die again, but has a similar mentality of battling and finally succeeding. The entry sets to put things “back to basics” and features turn-based combat.
The artstyle is quite different fromShiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fatewhich took on a more retro pixel art style. This one is more 3D, with some colourful characters to suit the aesthetic. Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. This could be a super fun title to play on the Switch.
