Samsung finally started the global rollout ofOne UI 7last week, starting on April 7 in South Korea and on April 10 in the US and other regions. However, less than a week later, therollout has now been put on hold.
Ice Universe, a known tipsteron X, posted that Samsung has halted the rollout of One UI 7 due to a “serious bug” that prevents someGalaxy S24users from unlocking their phones after downloading the update. Though the bug primarily impactsGalaxy S24 owners in South Korea, it seems Samsung has decided to pause its global rollout as a precaution.

In a statement toAndroid Authority, Samsung confirmed “The One UI 7 rollout schedule is being updated to ensure the best possible experience. The new timing and availability will be shared shortly.”
Samsung’s One UI 7 is rolling out now: Eligible devices and how to update
Samsung’s One UI 7 update has begun rolling out in the US.
One UI 7 has been pulled from Samsung’s servers
Delays have cursed One UI 7 from the start
Before Samsung confirmed the news, Tarun Vats, another tipster on X, reported that One UI 7 had been removed from Samsung’s over-the-air (OTA) update servers in the US, EU, and Korea, for the Galaxy S24 series, and the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6.
One UI 7 hasproven problematicfor Samsung. After months of delays in rolling out the update, a pause in the rollout is the last thing that users eagerly waiting for it want to hear. It’s already been six months since Android 15 launched, and some Samsung users are still waiting to be able to download the Android 15-based One UI 7 on their phones.

There is no timeline yet for when One UI 7 will become available again. Hopefully, Samsung can resolve this unlocking bug quickly and get this show back on the road. If it’s any consolation, leaks suggest thatOne UI 8might release much sooner than expected this year, which means Samsung users might get Android 16 much faster than they did Android 15.
