This article will be updated monthly, but here is everything to look forward to during February 2024. Most events last at least a week, but some only stick around for a weekend. As the name implies, Spotlight Hours are only live for 60 minutes, so you may need to plan for those.
I’ve split the events into categories for ease of use. As Pokemon GO is such a busy game, there will always be something live, no matter when you play:

Pokemon Go event types explained
There’s an overwhelming amount of different event types in Pokemon Go. It’s important to know what to expect if you’re going out specifically for a Pokemon Go event, so here’s a quick summary of what each entails.
Community Day
If you can only make it to one type of event, I recommend going out for a Community Day. During these special occasions, specific Pokemon appear in the wild en masse. Pokemon featured in the event learn an exclusive attack if they are evolved during or shortly after the event. Shiny rates are also increased for featured Pokemon.
During Hatch Days, you should focus on hatching as many eggs as possible. The featured event Pokemon has a high chance of appearing in 2KM Eggs.
Pokestop Showcase
Pokestop Showcases are mini competitions where you may showcase your Pokemon at special Pokestops for rewards. The Pokemon that the Showcase is based on is typically available during an ongoing or recent event.
Raid Hours are an hour-long event where specified Pokemon appear in Raids at a boosted rate. These events are often reserved for new or Legendary Pokemon. I recommend turning up just before the event goes live to have the highest chance of joining a populated Raid.
Spotlight Hour
The Pokemon featured for the Spotlight event will have a massively increased spawn rate for one hour.
Each cup’s rules differ, but these are hotly contested PvP events.
Mega Raid Battle
You can join these special battles just like an ordinary Raid for the chance to catch ferociously powerful Pokemon. These Mega Raids can feature normal and Legendary Pokemon.
5-Star Raid Battle
The featured Pokemon appear as 5-Star Raids during the event. These battles are tough and require multiple Trainers participating for a chance at catching the Pokemon afterward.
Shadow Raid Battle
These unique Raids feature Shadow Pokemon, which can become enraged during battle. you’re able to use Purified Gems to return the target to its non-enraged state.
