Monster Hunter Wilds New Patch Version 1.000.04.00
The latest installment in the series has become an unprecedented success for Capcom, selling 8 million copies in less than a week. Despite its success, the game launched with several issues, including a significant bug that blocked progression.
As promised, Capcom has been hard at work fixing the game’s major issues and has just released a new update, version 1.000.04.00, which resolves the bug that prevented progress in the main quest Chapter 5-2, “A World Turned Upside Down.”

The update is now available on all platforms and is mandatory for online play. To ensure it is applied correctly, players must download it and restart the game.
A Few Detected Problems Have Yet To Be Fixed
Along with several fixes, Capcom has warned about some problems that have yet to be resolved. One of the most notable is a network error that occurs when a player fires an SOS flare immediately after starting a mission, so it is recommended to avoid doing so until a fix is implemented. Other issues include a bug affecting Felyne Palico attacks with blunt weapons, preventing them from dealing stun or exhaustion damage, and a problem that stops “Link Members” from being prioritized in multiplayer sessions, causing them not to appear in key locations such as base camps.
Among the improvements introduced in this update are fixes for an issue that prevented unlocking the “Grill a Meal” and “Ingredient Center” features, a bug that caused players to clip through the map when heading to Azuz in Chapter 2-1, and errors in the Smithy, where tutorials would repeat and block menu options. Additionally, fixes have been applied to equipment skills, persistent graphical effects, and an issue with the Insect Glaive that could freeze the hunter after performing an attack under certain conditions.

As reflected in Monster Hunter Wilds’ Steam reviews, which are currently rated as “Mixed” with only 59% positive feedback, players have been reporting various performance issues on PC. However, Capcom has not yet addressed these concerns. It has, however, announced that the game now supports AMD’s upscaling technology: FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4).
