Ashley Williams has seen his fair share of nasty ghouls and dirty demons over the course of three movies and the first season of his own TV show. But the new villain about to be introduced inAsh Vs. Evil Deadreally takes the preverbal cake. This guy is a little different than anything Ash has had to square off with before. And thisdiabolic demonmight just be his most powerful foe yet.

Meet Baal, who has been introduced via a new photo fromEntertainment Weekly. The nasty beast has taken human form, and proves to be quite powerful, and quite able to resist the alluring charms of Ash’s Chainsaw hand. This new character is played by Joel Tobeck. You may remember the character actor from such iconic TV shows and movies asSons of AnarchyandThe Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Ash Vs Evil Dead Baal Photo

Baal arrives from the Underworld, as most demons do. He has a secret link to Lucy Lawless' Ruby, one that won’t be revealed until much later in Season 2. These all new episodes are set to be unleashed starting October 2nd at 8pm. At this point, there isn’t much more that we know about the dastardly Baal. But we’re sure all will be unveiled as the new season unfolds.

Also starring isRay Santiago(Touch,Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin, andDana DeLorenzo(A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead. There will also be a number of new characters introduced in Season 2.
