Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness Gets Overview of Exploration and Battles

UpcomingAction-RPGbased on the anime series, Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness has gotten a new trailer, this time outlining the game’s exploration and fights. The game will be released next month for consoles and PC.

The game follows the explorers as they go deeper into the depths of the Abyss, with characters from the anime in the Abyss mode. There is also the Cave Rider mode which allows players to create their very own character.

Exploration

The trailer starts off introducing the voice actors and actress of the English voiceover, then dives into the exploration aspect of the game. As players go cave diving, they will find that the location of both creatures and Relics will change each time they venture there. Players can also complete requests in order to gain rewards. Relics will provide experience to players, which is what players will be risking should they not make it back, adding a rogue-lite element into the mix.

As you’d expect experience leads to leveling up, also in turn improving your character’s abilities. Depending on your character’s abilities, they will have access to different whistle grades. Whistles will allow players to go deeper and deeper into the caverns. This also unlocks the powerful skills needed for fighting creatures and climbing the terrain.

PC

Being a cave explorer means having the right tools for the job; this includes a range of melee weapons including Pickaxes and Hatchets. There are also ranged weapons such as Bows for picking off targets from afar as well as Guns. Weapons will also gain wear and tear after much use, meaning they will eventually break similar to Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Weapons can be both bought and crafted, with the more powerful weapons being crafted from Relics.

Status Effects

Adding further challenges to your perilous journey are status effects. These can be brought on by monsters you find deep in the caves. They will affect everything from poison to injuries that can affect your mobility. This gives aMonster Hunter Risekind of feel to the game. If you’re not ready to take on creatures head-on, you’re able to creep up behind them. Be careful as there are some terrible deaths to encounter including what appears to be being speared through the chest by a porcupine-like needle, ouch!

Previously the developer went over thetwo game modesHello Abyss and Deep in Abyss modes, the former being based on the original series, while the latter being an original story with more challenge and action.
