The difficulty ofLies of P: Overturehasn’t been well received by players, and the DLC’s director has confirmed that a patch is on the way to address this issue.
Lies of P Devs Respond to Overture Difficulty With Upcoming Patch
The Soulslike title received its surprise DLC, Overture, last week, and director Jiwon Choi has announced that the team is already preparing a patch in response to player feedback—specifically, to lower the difficulty.
In a newly released video, the studio thanked the community for their feedback, especially regarding combat.

“We’ve identified areas that didn’t turn out as we had hoped,” said Choi.
“We’re reviewing several adjustments, including a reduction in difficulty. However, combat is one of the core elements ofLies of P, so any changes require careful work and extensive testing.”
The expansion also introduced additional changes to improve the overall gameplay experience. It’s worth noting that the base game received similar balancing updates post-launch, makingLies of Pone of the few Soulslikes to offer difficulty options—showing the studio’s commitment to making the game more accessible to new players.
A Patch Is Coming, But Patience Is Key
The main issue withOvertureseems to be that it’s only accessible after reaching Chapter 9 of the main story. Many players who completed the game are now in New Game+, where even regular enemies pose a significant challenge.
Overtureserves as a prequel, taking us back to the early days of Krat: “The story transports you to the city of Krat in its final days of haunting Belle Époque beauty at the end of the 19th century.”
If you feelOvertureis more difficult thanLies of P,you’re not alone. The director has acknowledged widespread feedback on the issue and confirmed that a patch is coming—though he asks for patience while they fine-tune the update.
