Ever since the official titleLoganwas revealed earlier this month, starHugh Jackman, directorJames Mangoldand the movie’s official Instagram account have been sharing some bizarre photos from this movie. The first photo gave us our first look atPatrick Stewart’s Professor X, but the photos that have surfaced since then have all been shrouded in mystery, while seemingly confirming various plot rumors that have surfaced. TodayHugh Jackmanhas released another new photo, that doesn’t confirm any rumors, but merely adds to the growing mystery swirling around this movie.

The official title ofLoganwas revealed along with the first poster last week, which featuredLogan’s clawed hand grasping the hand of a young girl, which many believe belongs toX-23, a.k.a. Laura Kinney. We have previously seen set photos withHugh Jackmanand an unidentified young girl, who many have speculated is in fact X-23. While the identity of the girl whose hand Logan is holding has not been confirmed, sources claim that she is a young mutant, but they wouldn’t specify whether it’s X-23 or not. The story is set in the year 2024, and that this story is darker than any of the previousX-MenorWolverinemovies.

It has been rumored that this story is at least partially based on theOld Man Logancomics. Recent rumors claim Logan is growing sick, causing his powers to fade, and sometimes, he doesn’t even fully heal from his injuries. DirectorJames Mangoldeven posted a script page that revealed that Logan has turned to booze to ease his pain, which isn’t terribly surprising since he is often seen drinking in theX-MenandWolverinemovies, with this report adding that he “looks bad” and “drinks a lot.” For work, Logan has landed a job driving a Chrysler 300 limousine, which would explain the limousine seen in early set photos, riddled with bullet holes.

The mutant child ends up getting taken under Logan’s wing. There have been rumors that in the year 2024, mutant births have gone down drastically, and no one can account for this sharp decrease. There is reportedly a “government-type program” known as Transigen, which is “turning mutant children into killing machines.” This girl Logan mentors is said to have two adamantium claws, instead of three.Stephen Merchantis reportedly playing Caliban, who was portrayed byTómas Lemarquisin this summer’sX-Men: Apocalypse, which was set in the 1980s. In this movie, Caliban helps Logan take care of the ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart), whose powers have become unstable and there are times where the Professor doesn’t even remember who Logan is. Hopefully we’ll find out the first trailer arrives, but until then, take a look at the latest photo below.
