How to Upgrade Your Armor in Monster Hunter Wilds
Before you’re able to upgrade your armor inMonster Hunter Wilds, you need to completeChapter 2-2, The Eye of the Storm, and reach theOilwell Basin regionto unlock the option to upgrade armor.
Once you complete the story mission and get to the campsite in the Oilwell Basin region, talk toGemma at the Smithyto get the option to upgrade your armor. However, that is not all you need to do to acquire armor upgrades.

How to Get Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds
To upgrade armor, you will needArmor Spheres, which are the materials necessary to level up the points for each upgrade level. You can get Armor Spheres as areward from quests or assignmentsin abundance, which are further divided into five types. Each type of Armor Sphere will offer a different amount of points, which are given below:
For a Low-Rank Armor set piece, you have to completeeight levelsto fully upgrade it. The first six levels will require 30 points each, while the last two levels will require 200 points. The High-Rank Armor set piece hasfour levels, with each level requiring 200 points.

Once you have the required Armor Spheres to upgrade your armor, talk to Gemma and choose“Forge/Upgrade Armor”to open the menu to forge or upgrade your armor. Select the forged armor piece you want to upgrade, and then select the Armor Sphere you want to use for the upgrade.
You will see the points required to reach the next upgrade level in the panel right to the armor’s list.
