If there’s one thingFinal Fantasy XIVis good at, it’s making the player look good. Whether it’s the huge array of outfits you can glamour onto your armor, or the various mounts and minions that you can use in the open world, there feels like an infinite number of things to collect.

One of the many collectibles comes in the form of emotes. These are unique animations you may perform at any time of the day. In the middle of a fight? Water your imaginary plants. In the middle of an RP club? Hit the dance floor with some killer moves. There are limitless possibilities for these and Square Enix keeps adding more.

How to Unlock The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Raid in FFXIV: Dawntrail

New content is always exciting in this MMORPG, but there’s something about wrangling up 24 players for a chaotic mess that has us excited.

What is the Pose of the Unbound Emote?

The Pose of the Unbound is an emote added inpatch 7.16that’s tied directly to the role quests that came with the release ofDawntrail. The community has quickly dubbed it the Jojo emote as it resembles that of Jonathan Joestar’s iconic hand-over-the-face animation.

Unlike a lot of the emotes in the game, you won’t be able to buy this from the marketboard or win it from a specific task. Instead, you’ll need to progress a specific side quest to unlock it, taking roughly two to three hours if you already meet all the requirements.

How do you Unlock the Pose of the Unbound Emote?

The first thing you need to do is have completed theFinal Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail expansion. You don’t need to complete any of the post-game patches, so long as you’ve seen the credits from theDawntrailmain story quest.

After that, you will need to have completed every single one of the role quests located in Tuliyollal. These are surprisingly fun role quests, a stark difference from the Endwalker and Shadowbringers role quests, which were immensely serious and involved lore regarding some of the other stars.

This means you’ll have to level up at least one of each role:Tank, Healer, Melee DPS, Physical Range and Magical Range. Once you have one of these leveled to 100, you can fully complete each of the quests:

You will also need to complete the Picking Up the Torch quest that is available immediately after finishing all of the respective role quests, which will transfer you from Tuliyollal to Ul’dah.

Once you’ve met all these requirements, you’re able to start theImposing Viewsquest from the very NPC you ended yourPicking Up the Torchquest on. If you have done this already and have forgotten where he is located, he is inUl’dah – The Steps of Thal (x: 12.4 Y: 11.3). He will put you on a quest to meetApyaahias she journeys into the desert ofSouth Thanalan.

She will show you the emote in an impressive fashion during the cutscene, a little preview of what you’re able to expect. Fight a couple of monsters and move to the southeast of the map to finish the quest and obtain your Pose of the Unbound emote.
