What is the Horsercutter Greatsword?
TheHorsecutter Greatswordis an Exceptional-graded two-handed Melee Weapon found in the Emerald Stair region. There are very few Exceptional Quality weapons you’ll be able to get until Shatterscarp, so picking this up early on is heavily advised, especially if you’re having trouble with some of the main story scenarios. Even more so, there are fewer unique weapons in the world itself, so picking this up will give you an edge on your enemies.
With that said, this will only be good for Warrior builds that utilize two-handed weapons. It won’t do magic, dexterity or sword & shield users any good, so while it’s definitely a powerful weapon you’ll likely want to upgrade in the future, it’s only viable for specific builds.

Where to Find the Horsecutter
The first thing you will need access to is Emerald Stair. This is the second region you will come across in your adventures across the Living Lands, and essentially the second chapter. You’ve probably come across a couple of unique weapons so far, but this one will likely be the first Exceptional Quality weapon, and one that will be a massive upgrade. With that said, you will need to go through some trials and tribulations in order to get it, literally.
Progress through Emerald Stair until you reach theCoastal Farms or the Fior mes Iverno Docks. From here, you will need to go along the sandy shores west. Make sure you’re on the shoreline as there is a bit of a cliff between the ocean and most of theEmerald Stair.
You will eventually come acrossWavesculpt Hollow, which you will immediately identify as there’s a skeleton holding a large sword up against a barrel, alongside a seeming bodyguard up against the wall beside it.
The skeleton will hail to you, and if you talk to it, it will immediately trigger his “Trials.” He says that you need to defeat his champion, the sword and shield-wieldingDecaying Skeleton Fighter, but that’s not the end of things. After taking care of his champion, a wave of skeletons will appear from the sandy shores nearby.
There are roughly three or four waves of enemies after the Decaying Skeleton Fighter. It depends on how you classify waves, as they don’t necessarily appear after finishing off each wave, just in-between, although thankfully not all at once, since that would definitely overwhelm the Envoy. Regardless, all you have to do is take care of all the waves of enemies and talk to the skeleton holding the sword to retrieve your reward.
