Summary
One Path inHonkai: Star Railmay be seeing a major and secret buff with the arrival of Version 2.3 if new leaks are to be believed. Version 2.3 is the next patch set up for release for HoYoverse’s popular turn-based RPG. Most of its contents are still a mystery, especially when it comes to narrative since the main Penacony storyline came to a conclusion with Version 2.2. Nevertheless, the next update should continue giving players content to explore, and a portion of that has already been confirmed through the reveal of thenew characters inHonkai: Star Rail2.3.
The new characters are Firefly and Jade. Firefly has already made appearances in the game as an NPC. Jade, in comparison, has not really appeared for the crew of the Astral Express, but has been seen in flashbacks and has had her voice featured in a conversation with a fellow IPC member. While the two characters, their Paths, their rarities, and their Elements are the only officially confirmed aspects of the next update, there have been a fewHonkai: Star Rail2.3 leaks occurring – and the most recent one shows that a Path may be getting a buff.

Honkai Star Rail 2.3 Leaks: Farming Ornaments Is Finally Getting Easier
Farming Ornaments in Honkai: Star Rail is about to get a whole lot easier if a new Version 2.3 proves itself correct once the update is released.

New information obtained by the leaker known as HomDGCat, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit, highlights that the limit on enemy targets has been removed from the game’s coding with Version 2.3. According to the leak, several characters have abilities that deal damage or affect enemy targets and those that have text saying they can hit up to five enemies have seen the limit completely removed. As stated by the leaker, these characters now have no maximum limit on how many opponents they may targetwith a single attack inHonkai: Star Rail.
Leaked Change In Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 May Come In Unexpected Ways
Multi-target Attackers Seem Like The Obvious Choice To Be Buffed
The removal of the maximum limit of targeted enemies may not actually affect those that it initially seems to.Multi-target attackers, particularly those of the Path of the Erudition, tend to hit all enemies on the fieldwith their abilities. This means that the removal of the limit would not actually make any difference to their skills since they are not limited to begin with. There is one character that has similar wording: thenew Harmony Trailblazer inHonkai: Star Rail. The new support version of the protagonist has a Trace that mentions more than 5 opponents.
The skill called Dance With The One mentions that when the number of enemy targets on the field is 5 or more, the Super Break DMG triggered by the Backup Dancer effect will increase. This teased removal of such a limit could start affecting certain character abilities, such as these ones. The interesting part of the leak, however, is thatit hints at more enemies on the field than ever before, which could then, undeniably end up benefiting multi-target attackers, such as those that follow the Path of the Erudition inHonkai: Star Rail.

“This rumored update to actually be beneficial to players and, perhaps, even bring some characters fromHonkai: Star Railback into the spotlight.”
If the removal of the limit of enemy targets implicates in an increase in opponents on the field, then Erudition characters may see an inadvertent buff to their overall performance. This is because characters on this Path tend to benefit from the more enemies they hit or eliminate. Himeko, for instance, gains one point of Charge with every enemy who is inflicted with Weakness Break and,if there are more enemies simultaneously appearing on the field, she can trigger her follow-up attack more frequently.

Similarly, Himeko’s Ultimate sees her restore 5 extra Energy for every enemy defeated with the ability.
If there is no cap on the number of enemies and Himeko ends up defeating more enemies than ever before, her Ultimate may even recharge itself.Argenti inHonkai: Star Railalso restores Energy and increases his CRIT Rate with every enemy hit, up to ten times, and if there is a larger number of enemies on the field with the leaked update, the already-powerful Physical Erudition character could get buffed to deal even more damage. While the implications of the leak seem minor from an initial standpoint, they could have a massive effect on certain characters.

Honkai Star Rail 2.3 Character Banners - Phase 1 & 2 Banners Leaked
The 5-star characters for Phase 1 and 2 banners in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 have allegedly leaked and players may face difficult decisions when pulling.
Of course, the leaked removal of this limit may end up affecting certain event game modes rather than the standard gameplay throughout the title. For now, as a leak, the information should be taken with a grain of salt, as it could be inaccurate or subject to change. Nevertheless, the game’s constant updates and optimizations shed light on the possibility of this rumored update actually being beneficial to players and it could even bring some characters fromHonkai: Star Railback into the spotlight, such as Himeko herself.
