Since romancing Hans is done over a longer period of time, you need to know when to pick the romance options during conversations with him early on to build your reputation and relationship. Theromance options are the one with heartsby them, and there are quite a few times they appear when speaking with Hans.
How to Romance Hans
Romancing Hans starts as early as the “For Whom the Bell Tolls” main quest, which takes place right after the “Wedding Crashers” main quest. If you save Thomas and attempt to stop Hans' execution with his help, you gain reputation that helps with the romance, but it isn’t required. Then, during “Back in the Saddle,” when you speak with Hans to leave Trosky and head for Nebakov Fortress,choose the dialogue option that says, “I care about you.”
Your next chance to work on wooing Hans comes during “The French Leave” main quest. When you have to rescue Hans yet again and suggest escaping through tunnels, Hans disagrees. This leads to a conversation where you have theoption to say, “We’ll manage it together,“which is the romance choice.
After that, the next romance option comes up during “The Italian Job” main quest. This one is easy to miss, because you need to talk to Hans before speaking with Zizka on the battlements, since speaking to Zizka first removes the option to speak with Hans, as it starts the next section of the game automatically. So, speak with Hans on the battlements before Zizka andpick the option, “I’m more concerned about you,“to continue building your romance with him.
Then, you have another option to pick during “The Italian Job” when you’re in the tunnels. Before going up the ladder, find Hans in the tunnels and speak with him. The end of the conversation gives you"I care about you,” as an option, which is the romance choice.
Finally, you’re ready to commit to Hans' romance with one more option. This time, it’s during the main quest “Hunger and Despair.” You get a mission that’s pretty dangerous, but you have thechance to speak with Hansand Katherine first. You’ll find Hans in his room, and he tells you a story about some famous knights. After his story, you have the option to kiss him, which is, of course, the romance choice, and that finishes the path to romancing Hans in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
