The series portrays the family on a road trip, exploring the US in a creepy camper and unintentionally causing chaos wherever they stop. Nathan Lane, an American stage, film, and television actor, is popularly known for his roles in musical comedies. Directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, the animated filmThe Addams Familywas released in 2019, the third in the animation adaptations (the second was in 1992, in which John Astin voiced Gomez). In the 2019 Addams Family animation,Oscar Isaac, a Guatemalan-born American actor, voiced Gomez, receiving mixed reviews from critics. However, fans did suggest casting him in the role ashe resembled Raul Julia.
In 2021, Isaac reprised his role as Gomez inThe Addams Family 2, which did not gross as much as the third animation series.
