Given everything that’s been happening lately with theunc0verjailbreak for iOS 11.0-11.4 beta 3, it can be easy for some to forget aboutElectraand some of the noteworthy developments that were in the works for it.
One that struck us in particular was Sileo, afull-blown package installer that was supposed to replace Cydiaon jailbrokeniOS 11devices. Five months ago, the Electra Team teased that Sileo would be “coming soon.” Fast-forward to today, and it’s still not available; so… where is it?

While we’re no closer to answering the question above, a Tweetshared this weekend by Electra Team member Alessandro Chiarlitti (@aesign_)confirms that the elusive and highly-anticipated Sileo package installer is indeed still under development:
As it would seem, Sileo is “almost ready,” and theElectra Team’s developers still “just need to sort out a few things” before it’s ready for the masses.

In what seems like an obvious case of saying “coming soon” too early, there is still no concrete date denoting when Sileo will be released publicly. Furthermore, there’s no official word concerning whether it will work on the unc0verjailbreakor if it will be an Electra-exclusive package installer.
It’s worth noting thatPwn20wnd’s unc0ver jailbreak toolbundles an updated version of the tried-and-true Cydia installerthat has been fully optimized for iOS 11. Perhaps more importantly, this updated Cydia has been approved bySaurikhimself.
There’s no telling when Sileo may drop, but we’ll continue to keep you updated on its status as we hear more.
