Developer Red Hook Studios have shared a new trailer for their upcoming sequel to their Lovecraftian inspired RPG Darkest Dungeon.
Darkest Dungeon 2 Announced by Red Hook
The RPGDarkest Dungeonis a cosmic horror title based around exploring dangerous environments, seeking loot and battling the many creatures that lurk in the world. Adventuring isn’t taken lightly as each encounter with these horrific monsters will drive the explorers closer and closer towards madness. Characters in their party would gain unfortunate negative effects which would cause further challenges.
In between missions players could manage their party, hire new members or use the local establishments either brothels or a chapel to help ease the side effects gain from perilous journeys. The original Darkest Dungeon gained two major DLCs called The Crimson Court and The Colour of Madness, but the story isn’t over as Red Hook have shared the sequel, The Darkest Dungeon 2.

In an article byPC Gamer, Red Hook explored a few details about the upcoming instalment. Fans will be glad to know that the combat system will be returning in the sequel with a “significant tune-up mechanically”, but the game gets “a completely different metagame structure”.
While details of the narrative are few, Red Hook did share a little of what’s to come in the sequel:

In Darkest Dungeon 2, we’re giving players a glimpse of the supernatural apocalypse twisting and distorting the world beyond the estate… and that’s all we’re going to say about that for now.
