Earlier this month, Apple releasediOS 15to the public, along with other updates for the company’s additional platforms. And now, looking ahead, the company is moving right along for the next update to the mobile operating system. Which requires some beta testing.
Update #1 (09/28/21):Apple has also seeded the eighth beta of macOS Monterey 12 to developers.

The original article continues below.
Today, Apple has seeded the second betas of iOS 15.1, iPadOS 15.1, watchOS 8.1, and tvOS 15.1 to developers. As is par for the course with prerelease software like this, it should not be installed on a daily driver. It’s meant entirely for testing purposes only, and it could still be rough around the edges. This seed is meant specifically for developers as well.
Apple will very likely seed a corresponding public beta of eligible software in the near future. So for folks who take part in the public beta program, they’ll be able to test out the software ahead of its public launch later this year as well.
Developers can update to the latest beta by doing an over-the-air update process. The software can also be downloaded and installed directly from Apple’s beta site.
As far as what’s new, that remains to be seen as far as this beta is concerned. If anything changes in that regard, we will update this post accordingly.
However, there is new elements to iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1, which Apple brought into the mix with the first developer beta. SharePlay, for instance, makes its triumphant returnto the mobile software. With SharePlay, users will allow users to share their screen while using FaceTime, create group playlists in Apple Music, watch synced movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app, and more.
iOS 15.1 also adds support for Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos audio support for paired HomePod and HomePod mini smart speakers.
The new software also brings the ability toadd COVID-19 vaccination cards into the Wallet app.
If there are any new discoveries made, we will update this post.
