Some things once broken in Helldivers 2 have now been fixed, but armor isn’t one of them. We don’t know the full consequences of this bug (no, not that kind), but I do have some friendly advice for when it gets fixed.
Helldivers 2’s Armor Rating Isn’t Working As Intended
What does this mean? Well, literally, armor values represented by stats aren’t applied properly in-game. This meansHeavy armor provides the same resistance as Medium armor. And itmighteven mean that Light armor is tanking shots it shouldn’t be able to. The commonly prevailing theory is that all armor has the default value of 100, even Light armor. Until this gets fixed (hopefully sooner than later), here’s what you’ll want to keep in mind.
Using Heavy armor is currently a straight debuff, without exception. Because the same armor effect can appear across multiple classes of armor, using Heavy variations in any form is just going to make you move more slowly and tire more easily. For now, you should 100% be avoiding Heavy armor in any form. If you’re in love with a set of Heavy armor’s effects, take a look in the Warbonds to see if there’s a lighter set with the same one, or try using your earned Super Credits in the shop if one shows up on offer.
Using Light armormightbe overpowered at the moment. If the Armor Rating of all armor is broken and set to the same, flat amount (which is certainly what it feels like), then using Light armor is either working as intended or giving the Armor Rating of Medium armor. In either of these cases, it’s probably a good idea to at least play with the idea of using it for the extra speed and stamina.
